On Your Mark, Get Set, 'Save Our Schools'
ALERT!!

Twenty-Seven (27) Schools, have been set for closure since the so-called No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Why is this happening in the year of 2005?  To find out more, click here  http://www.demographers.com/SCHOOLCLOSURENEWSLETTER.pdf

What happened to the funds from the California Lottery?  It was posed to the American people that the funds would go 'directly to education'; so, why are there major school closures?

The goal is to raise at least $10,000.00

Just imagine if everyone in the Bay Area were to donate just $1, the youth project would meet and surpass our goal of $10,000.00

$10,000.00 will assist at least 8-10 schools--that's helping over 2,000 students.  Just imagine....
S.O.S.!!!!
Pending Closures

Eleven elementary schools are on the list:

Burbank, Emerson, Golden Gate, John Swett, Santa Fe, Washington, Burckhalter, Foster, Howard, Longfellow and Toler Heights.

Carter and King Estates are the two middle schools on the list.

President Bush promised a certain amount of funds to be allocated towards education.  As it stands, there are still more schools closing and unfortunately, Charter schools are not necessarily the answer, Books, supplies, and other services for these elementary and middle school children are needed.

Proceeds go to benefit various schools and afterschool programs to provide individualized peer education, supplies, field trips and other services and items needed to ensure that these children of the Oakland Bay Area receive Equal Opportunities for Equal Education.
